Baltimore is a picturesque coastal fishing village situated 100 km west of Cork City and 8 km west of the main West Cork town of Skibbereen. The village boasts three sailing schools, with golf and tennis close by.

There are daily trips from the peer to three local islands. There are beautiful beaches on Sherkin Island, where bicycles can also be hired to tour the island. There's a host of good restaurants and pubs serving local fish dishes and lively entertainment at night.
