Eight cottages ideal for a holiday at your own pace in West Cork

Rainbow Cottages are situated on the main coast road between Bantry and Glengarriff in county Cork. The cottages are set back above the road with their own car park and rear entrance. Bantry is the ideal location from which to experience Irish country life and to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday. On top of all that, you are perfectly placed for touring the beautiful South West of Ireland. Killarney is only an hour away and you can be anywhere in West Cork within the hour. As our guests you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the area and as you’re only four or five minutes walk from the centre of the town. You can call into the Tourist Information Office to check up on the huge choice of activities available to you.

Accommodation The accommodation at Rainbow Cottages consists of eight attractive three star, Bord Failte approved, 2 bedroomed cottages. The main bedroom (12.2 kb) has 1 double bed and 1 single bed and the second bedroom has 2 single beds. The cottages also feature a bathroom with bath with electric shower and WC. An open plan kitchen/diner (12 kb) offers electric cooker, fridge, microwave and a washing machine/drier. To relax and to eat ‘en famille’ you have table with dining chairs, settee and television. The slate floors and comfortable surroundings create a homely, country setting for you to relax in and enjoy.

Local Attractions: Bantry is one of the principal towns on the South West Coast, set in beautiful surroundings with magnificent views of Bantry Bay – one of the deepest natural harbours in the world. In the summertime there are boat trips from the pier which give a tour of the bay and the local mussel rafts. Yachting trips and board sailing are also available.

  • Bantry House is well worth a visit. Famous for it’s historical interest and works of art. It is idyllically located overlooking the bay and is set in lovely grounds with well manicured gardens.
  • Garnish Island. Located in the nearby Glengarriff Harbour , the island is renowned for the richness and diversity of its’ flora and is a must for anyone interested in trees and shrubs Arts and Crafts. There are a number of outlets in the area including craft shops, galleries and museums.
  • Sports available in the surrounding area include, sailing and water sports, deep sea, lake and river fishing, pony trekking and cycling. Additionally golf is possible at two local courses which welcome visitors at Bantry and Glengarriff.
  • Festivals. The Bantry Mussel Festival and the Bantry Regatta.
