Derryaun is a tastefully restored, stone-built farm cottage in an idyllic rural setting near Westport, Co Mayo on the West coast of Ireland, with panoramic views of the Partry and Sheefry Mountains and Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s ‘Holy Mountain’.

The accommodation comprises: a cosy living/dining room with turf burning stove. The fully equipped modern kitchen has a gas/electric cooker/hob, microwave, washing machine, tumble drier, dish-washer and fridge-freezer. There is a comfortable sitting room with open fire equipped with a T.V., Video and a Radio / cassette / C.D stereo. Children are catered for with their own play room which has a variety of books and games. There is a shower room, a washroom with WC and another bathroom with WC. The sleeping accommodation comprises 2 double bedrooms 1 Twin bedroom and an interconnecting bedroom with single bed and bed-settee or cot if required. There is programmable electric heating in all rooms. Among the other touches of luxury is a sauna!

Outside a large secluded garden awaits you.

The single Bedroom at Derryaun

Derryaun has retained all the character and charm of a traditional Irish cottage, with a turf-burning stove, open fires and antique furnishings, yet providing the modern comforts of a fully fitted kitchen, programmed electric heating and sauna.

Derryaun is well away from public roads, but only 9 miles south of the thriving town of Westport which has night-life to suit all tastes, including a superb range of restaurants and bars with contemporary and traditional music. Matt Molloy’s Bar is internationally renowned for its nightly traditional Irish sessions. More simply, Breslin's Bar, in Drummin village is a true 'local'.  Click for map ref : F7

The cottage makes a superb base for walking or cycling to explore Mayo and Connemara. There are spectacular mountain roads leading to miles of unspoilt coastline including four ‘Blue Flag’ beaches in the vicinity.

Other Activities Sea and river angling, horse-riding and golf are all available nearby.
